Sports equipment

Equipment and accessories for skiing, snowboarding, hockey, golfing, fishing, diving, surfing, biking and other sports, except for athletic poles is included into the toll-free baggage allowances. Athletic poles are not included into the toll-free baggage allowances and shall be paid for as oversized baggage.

In case of exceeding the weight of equipment in excess of established norms of free baggage allowances, passenger has to pay for transportation of equipment in accordance with established over-standard tariff.

Toll-free transportation of sport equipment does not include one cover with a pair of boots. In such case the transportation of the case with a boots pair made as additional separate baggage piece, provided this baggage piece is paid based on the baggage fee, set by the Carrier.

No free baggage allowance shall apply to a set of sports equipment if the passenger has purchased a no-baggage fare ticket. No free baggage allowance shall apply to a shoe pouch or bag containing a pair of shoes. In such case, the shoe pouch or bag containing a pair of shoes shall be transported as a separate piece of baggage which is payable at the applicable fares.

Starting from November 1st to May 10th (exception: “Light Economy” tickets), for all scheduled flights departing any direction, except for destinations between the Russian Federation and Vietnam, Thailand, Cuba, the Dominican Republic, Jordan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Jamaica as addition to the baggage allowance for the Nordwind Airlines flights the Carrier provides free-of-charge transportation of one set of ski/snowboard equipment with a total weight up to 20 kg.

Ski equipment set includes:

1 equipment set (not exceeding 20 kg) includes:

1 case with 1 pair of ski, 1 pair of poles and additional equipment (1 helmet, glasses, special clothes);
1 case with 1 pair of boots.

Snowboarding equipment set includes:

1 equipment set (not exceeding 20 kg) includes:

1 case with 1 snowboard and additional equipment (1 helmet, glasses, special clothes);
1 case with 1 pair of boots.

From February 22, 2024 onward, the free baggage allowance applies to ski/snowboard boots when transporting ski/snowboard equipment subject to the:

toll-free baggage allowance, in case the fare includes registred baggage;
free of charge additional baggage piece in case of transporting a sport equipment for skiing/ snowboard winter sports in the discount season (from November 1st to May 10th) fo such transportation;
paid excess baggage piece, in case of transporting a sport equipment set (skiing /snowboard).

The total weight of such ski or snowboard equipment (1 bag) and ski/snowboard boots (a pouch or bag containing 1 pair of boots) must not exceed the eligible weight (free baggage allowance or additionally paid piece of baggage).

Bikes are accepted for carriage, provided:

they are properly packed into the special paper package or protective tape, except for the wheel fork;
the handlebar is fastened to the frame;
treadles are dismounted.

One piece of baggage may contain only one set of equipment.
A set of equipment must comply with one of following types.

Ice hockey equipment set

1 piece of baggage consisting of either 1 case (not exceeding 20 kg) with equipment and 1 case with 2 hockey sticks

From February 22, 2024 onward, it is permitted to carry 1 bag with 2 additional hockey sticks free of charge when transporting hockey equipment subject to the following:

toll-free baggage allowance, in case the fare includes registred baggage;
paid excess baggage piece, in case of transporting a sport equipment set.

The total weight of such hockey equipment (a bag containing it) and hockey stick (a bag containing 2 sticks) must not exceed the eligible weight (free baggage allowance or additionally paid piece of baggage).

Golfing equipment set

a set of golf clubs, golf balls, packed in 1 case (not exceeding 20 kg).

Fishing equipment set

1 piece of baggage with total weight not exceeding 20 kg and dimensions less than 203 cm in the sum of three dimensions, consisting of rods and 1 set of tackle.

Surfing equipment set

Surfing equipment set (not exceeding 20 kg) consists of:

1 surfboard travel bag, which includes:

Surfboard — up to 2 boards.
