The Airline's growing passenger numbers from Dagestan are largely driven by its unique route network, which features destinations such as Ivanovo, Izhevsk, Kazan, Samara, Ufa, Chelyabinsk, and more.

Thanks to the airline's transfer flights, passengers from cities such as St Petersburg, Kaliningrad, Murmansk, Ufa, Barnaul, Omsk, Novokuznetsk, Gorno-Altaysk, Tomsk, Kemerovo, Krasnoyarsk, Irkutsk, and Ulan-Ude can travel to Makhachkala with a convenient layover in Kazan.

The carrier's extensive regional network is boosting organised tourism to Dagestan from other parts of Russia. The Airline's close collaboration with tour operators drives consistent annual growth in organised travel to Makhachkala on all its flights. Direct flights to Dagestan are crucial for attracting travellers from other regions, as they significantly reduce travel time. Coupled with affordable tickets, this allows tour operators to build highly competitive travel packages.

In addition, Nordwind's extended network in the North Caucasus facilitates the creation of multi-destination itineraries with flexible departure and arrival points. Thus, a traveller may arrive in Makhachkala from Kazan or Nizhny Novgorod and end their trip with a return flight from Mineralnye Vody back to Kazan or Nizhny Novgorod.

The Open Dagestan tourism forum aims to establish a professional business platform for boosting the tourism industry's efficiency, raising service quality standards, and showcasing the travel potential of Dagestan and other participating Russian regions.

Nordwind is a big player in Russia's airline industry having a great variety of destinations to choose from and an extensive network of scheduled flights. Its base airports are Sheremetyevo, Pulkovo, Sochi, Kazan, and Makhachkala.

In 2023, Nordwind signed a trilateral cooperation agreement with Makhachkala International Airport and the Ministry of Transport and Road Infrastructure of the Republic of Dagestan, which laid the foundation for the development of the carrier's regional route network.

At the MITT 2023 exhibition, Nordwind Airlines signed a strategic partnership agreement with Dagestan's Ministry of Tourism and Folk Arts, defining a roadmap to channel tourist traffic to the region via the carrier's scheduled flights.
