As a base carrier of International Airport of Makhachkala, Nordwind has demonstrated the results of its operation from 2022: the flow of tourists to Dagestan enhanced thanks to direct flights of the operator being a key aviation market player in the Republic.

The carrier’s wide regional flight map has boosted organized tourism to Dagestan from other Russian regions. The airline managed to arrange organized tourist flow on all Makhachkala flights thanks to its strong partnership with tour operators. No doubt a lot of travelers are attracted by direct flights to the Republic which save time. Moreover, the affordable ticket price supported the making of a competitively viable touristic package.
In addition, the operator’s expanded North Caucasus flight program gives an opportunity to arrange combined tours with different points of departure and arrival. For instance, a tourist can take a flight from Kazan to Makhachkala and end his trip with a flight from Grozniy, Vladikavkaz or Mineralnye Vody back to the Tatarstan capital.
Main purpose of «Open Dagestan 2024» is to create a professional business media to improve efficiency of the touristic industry as well as to raise the quality of services provided. The forum is also aimed at presenting and promoting the touristic capability of the Republic and other participating regions.
On the forum in 2023 Nordwind executed a tripartite partnership agreement with the International Airport of Makhachkala and Dagestan’s Ministry of Transport and Road Facilities. The agreement became a foundation for enhancing the carrier’s regional route network.
On MITT 2023 exhibition Nordwind Airlines concluded a strategic cooperation agreement with the Ministry of Tourism and National Crafts of the Republic of Dagestan. The document outlines further mutual activities for increasing tourist flow to the Republic with the operator’s scheduled flights.
