Nordwind Airlines puts in operation new aircraft Airbus A330

As part of the program to expand the regular route network and increase its fleet of aircraft, Nordwind airline received a new type of wide-body liner Airbus A330.

2 aircraft in a new brand livery arrived at the airline's flight base at Sheremetyevo International Airport at once, where a presentation for journalists and bloggers was held on July 14.

The presentation program provided for video shooting of the flight A330 number VP-BYU, as well as a briefing onboard with commercial director of the Nordwind airline Imran Nazarov.

The transfer of the second aircraft under the number VP-BYV in a ceremonial atmosphere was performed by the head of the Airbus representative office in Russia, Mr. Julien Franjatt.

The liners are equipped with a 24-seater business lounge Weber Aircraft seats and is designed for comfortable transportation of 279 passengers. The seats in the economy class are designed by Zodiac Seats France and equipped with a personal entertainment system.

The distinctive advantages of this particular Airbus model are:
- Low costs in terms of passenger seat and high reliability make the A330-200 an excellent solution for the implementation of regular and charter programs Nordwind Airlines.
- The A330 is unified with the A320 family (virtually identical pilot cabs and control procedures, the distinguishing feature of the Airbus aircraft), which will allow Nordwind Airlines to reduce the cost of retraining of flight and technical personnel.
-The A330 is a versatile aircraft, it is effective both on routes from 30 minutes, and on routes up to 15 hours.
-The A330 has one of the highest operational reliability in its class (99.4%).

The aircraft will perform regular flights on the route Moscow - Irkutsk and Moscow - Khabarovsk immediately after receiving the decision of the commission of the Russian aviation authorities on the admission of a new type to commercial operation by the airline.

The airline Nordwind plans to further increase the number of wide-body aircraft, which will open up new long-haul destinations.
